I found out that this template was transcluded on over 1000 pages, but since it is a notification template, it should really be substituted. This bot will replace the transclusions with substitutions. I need the bot flag because of the high rate of editing, and for not generating tons of user notifications while doing so. Discussion

  • I think it is really intended to be transcluded, not substituted. See this diff of VICbot. It doesn't substitute {{VICpromoted}}. Also, seeing the code of {{VICpromoted}}, it has a lot of code, and substituting it will let out a lot of code. Well if you see at DeFacto's talk page, he has a lot of VI notifications, and substituting it will make their talk page about 200,000+ bytes instead of only 100,000 bytes. So I  Oppose this. • I also see that the discussion is also included in the template, but it's not rendered on page, nor is the link where the review is supposed to be. I don't think this template is set up properly in the first place and needs to be fixed. Techman224Talk 02:00, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose because there is no benefit in substing the template. It will make it worser (Substing this code is not a good idea) and hunderts (or likely moor) unneeded talkpage edits are needed. --Steinsplitter (talk) 08:59, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Withdraw It doesn't seem like it will succeed. At the very least, the template needs some fixing. Techman224Talk 18:30, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
