Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: To upload Marshall Image Exchange of the w:Marshall Space Flight Center. The gallery contains ~4200 high-quality images/videos. The bot will upload all the images/video (converted to ogg), along with relevant metadata, and autocategorize. Some of the images are large ~10-20MB.

I've uploaded a sample at File:Vapor Crystal Growth System (VCGS) Furnace with Crystal Installed (NIX - MSFC-438290).jpg.

I contacted NASAimages.org regarding permission, and they stated that the upload is fine.

Automatic or manually assisted: Automatic

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): one time

Discussion

For some of the images, there are already versions on the commons, such as File:Crystal_in_VCGS_furnace.jpg. Should I redirect that version to the this one, or upload over the old one? Is the metadata properly formatted in the sample...should a seperate template be used? I'd like some feedback. Smallman12q (talk) 01:54, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images sources list looks overkill. For example, archive.org, is definitely secondary source. {{Information}} data should be internationalized. If relevant categories could not be dedacted from description, {{Uncategorized}} should be added.
If you plan to use uniform names, will be good idea to replace old one with new ones. I don't think keeping redirects after replace is useful.

Unless there are further issues, I think we should approve this request. The operator is experienced at mass-upload. I'd suggest just skipping any that have already been uploaded, to save people time processing duplicates or making redirects (which IMO are important if the old filename had been used for any significant period). --99of9 (talk) 00:17, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Will do. Have to find where I put files ...Smallman12q (talk) 22:44, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
