@EugeneZelenko: See the contributions of the last years: mainly VFC mass edits. I wanted to move files by botself, as I am allowed to do by myself as User:Sarang - when is too difficult to get that right I am dependent on asking another bot which is able to massrename, such spreading the responsibilty for the moves. Making moves as "Sarang" swamps my contributions too much, and marking just by the template to involve somebody else is IMHO an unneeded complication. -- sarang사랑 05:38, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bot functionality must be tested, so please make test run. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:26, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
EugeneZelenko, this bot request is a regularisation suggested by CptViraj and myself for an already active bot. User:Krd said that filemover rights for bots could be granted here on bot request. Yug (talk) 14:42, 31 March 2021 (UTC) (usernames from memory)[reply]
This is what I wanted to hear from bot owner and actually expected to see in original request. File mover right is granted for week. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:03, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
A batch of edits (replace) and a dozen (?) of renames have been done. Yug (talk) 12:36, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Why bot's owner could not participate on this discussion? Move edit summary should use link to page with rename criteria. What exactly is supposed to be changed by bot in descriptions? Doing 1 replacements doesn't tell anything. Probably hagar breisgau - could be omitted. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:31, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Account owner already had its peaceful workflow calmly working. I'am leading this regularization push to bot status so we (Commons) keep this valuable user's contributions. It sometimes happen this way in volunteership and open projects. Yug (talk) 07:36, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Purpose of this discussion is how to make bot's contributions better. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:37, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry @EugeneZelenko: the mentioned "Doing 1 replacements" is the standard auto-edit summary of the VisualFileChange, the example hagar.. is my addition used to determine the specific VFC task; not very explicative to others - I can try to get it changed to a more-telling output. At the moment no more file moves are needed but sure I will have to use this right soon again. Thank you for granting the right -- sarang사랑 09:39, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It appears these are manual edits that should not be done with a bot flag, and no bot flag is requested. Why isn't this just done with the main account? --Krd 10:31, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Once more: I do not request a bot flag! I just want to do mass edits without having swamped the contribution list of my main account by hundereds of mass entries. Therefore I make mass edits as Sarangbot, and all other edits as Sarang. (only some single edits for completion of mass edits are also done with the alternate account). Sarangbot (talk) 13:08, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you intend to do edits that are ok to do with the main account, you can do them with either account without approval, and withdrawing this request would perhaps be the best choice. If edits are intended that are bot-like, and need approval, I think we need some more information about the intended tasks. Please advise. --Krd 12:24, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Declined per above. Non-bot edit can be done with any account without approval. --Krd 06:38, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
