Discussion

How should i fix urls on file namespace which are mentioned in the source field of the Information/Paintung template? e.g. at File:APEC2005_Hanbok.jpg the content of http://www.whitehouse.gov/asia/2005/photoessay/summit/15.html is now available at http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/asia/2005/photoessay/summit/15.html. You can have a look at enwiki because i have no non-file-ns replacements at the moment for commons. But many source links like the example above have changed. On dewiki we decided to replace the source locations with "http://newlink.tld (was: <nowiki>http://originallink.tld</nowiki>)". I could also simple replace them or change only the link target and leave the old url as linktext. (e.g. [http://www.whitehouse.gov/asia/2005/photoessay/summit/15.html http://georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/asia/2005/photoessay/summit/15.html]. I did not found any informations on this wiki how this should be handled. Merlissimo (talk) 13:36, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have more dead file source links. Should i simple replace them? Merlissimo (talk) 15:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, i have asked at Commons:Village_pump#dead_link_as_file_source. So I'll do some testedits and replacing to url. Merlissimo (talk) 12:49, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
