Discussion
The current code of the bot is here and single test upload here. Code is based on uuuser:Multichill]'s source code found here. I am still in the process of verifying and tweaking the code. I also operate User:JarektBot with 48,576 in last 4 years, but I felt that new task of image uploads and change of framework (User:JarektBot is based on AWB) warrants usage of specialized new username. --Jarekt (talk) 15:25, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sample upload looks OK for me. But is it possible to move WGA identifier into end of file names? I think identifier is less important information then title and author. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:46, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
- I was trying to have images from WGA grouped together in categories to ease latter categorization and when in WGA only category sorted naturally by the original record number. Kind of like Bundesarchiv images. In my experience it is easier to categorize, if images with same type of metadata are grouped together. for example I do not like how you have to hunt Geograph images all over the category for some location. But I do not have strong opinions on the subject only mild preference. --Jarekt (talk) 13:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- Looks good to me.
- Will the title field always use a template? Otherwise, should {{Title}} be used?
- {{PD-Art}} should wrap the appropriate PD-Old template ({{PD-Old-100}}...), since info is available (and {{PD-old}} « is to be deprecated »).
- I’m with EugeneZelenko regarding the ID at the end. As for WGA only category, you can set the sort key to the ID (what I did for the Trutat upload)
