  • The template's title determines if a parameter is added and its value. Prior to the merge {{MenByName}} was used for men and {{WomenByName}} for women, and they were categorized accordingly. Adding the parameter restores the original categorization. — JJMC89 (T·C) 22:24, 19 March 2017 (UTC)

  •  Comment I tend to think it would be better to remove the redundant redirects after the task is done. Those who are inexperienced or aren't familiar with the new template {{PeopleByName}} can be misled by the redirects' names and use them without the 3rd required parameter (male or female attribute).--Russian Rocky (talk) 08:27, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
