Discussion

I could understand why this data is interesting for channels owners, but does it really fit Commons:Project scope? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:07, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you round of to the nearest thousandths, millionths, and billionth, etc and run it on all Wikipedias to update Subscribers count and Total views. This should keep the infobox up to date, and save a lot of time that's wasted updating views/subscribers. I agree with Eugene Zelenko, there is probably no use of this bot in commons. But it's perfect for Wikipedia IMHO. Best, Eatcha (talk) 04:26, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Provided this data is useful at all, why should anybody put them at all Wikipedias when the alternative is to have it once on Commons? --Krd 05:27, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
What's the purpose of that data on commons? Can it be included in Wikipedia infoboxes from commons? if yes my above suggestion is crap. Best, Eatcha (talk) 06:00, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
1,2) Tabular data that contains in Commons can be obtained by Wikipedia via Lua (for details see mw:Help:Tabular_Data#Usage). --IEPCBM (talk) 17:04, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Now it Sounds good IMHO -- Best, Eatcha (talk) 02:25, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Just, unfortunately, it is difficult. Each wiki has different infobox templates with different parameters (e.g. subscribers in Russian wiki is "подписчики", in Arabic wiki is "مشتركين", etc.). In addition, articles and templates can be edited or renamed by someone at any time. If this happens, there may be problems in the work of the bot, which require a solution. --IEPCBM (talk) 11:14, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for my late response. I have been busy this weekend. I think that those data are informative. By the count of views and subscriptions, users make conclusions about how popular and interesting channels are. --IEPCBM (talk) 10:23, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Approved. --Krd 05:55, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
