Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: work on french historical monuments : add model and category.

Automatic or manually assisted: automatic

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): occasionally

Maximum edit rate (e.g. edits per minute): 15

Bot flag requested: (Y/N): watchlist discretion

Programming language(s): PHP

I created between 1000 and 1500 classes of historical monuments and moved categories of images.
I need a robot to :
- Add a default category "[[Category:Monuments historiques in <department>]]" if necessary ;
- Add the template "{{Mérimée}}" if necessary.
This with the help of Wikidata.
The bot is already active is Wikipedia and Wikidata for similar tasks.

See some examples of changes.

A previous request was refused for an other task.

Discussion

Ok, "bot:" and new line are included in the code. Gzen92 [discuter] 12:36, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Special:Diff/183031641 seems to be adding a Category to a file which already is in a subcategory thereof. I think this should not be done this way. --Krd 15:08, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Effectively, this case brings to controversy (the problem is the same on Wikidata). The abbey whole is not historical monument, only certain building. It seems more logical to me to indicate the model/category into subcategories concerned ? Gzen92 [discuter] 15:43, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
1500 classes max. are affected. This means your bot will edit 1500 pages or moor? --Steinsplitter (talk) 15:20, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
about 1000-1500 for model (I have not manually put the creation of categories) and about half for category (if "historical monument" if not specified). Gzen92 [discuter] 15:46, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is already good (?), it is only "add". Gzen92 [discuter] 17:29, 28 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
template / category edit summary doesn't provide any useful information about what was changed. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:17, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. So I put in the summary "bot : add category Monuments historiques in Haut-Rhin" or "bot : add template Mérimée". Gzen92 [discuter] 15:41, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Should be fine, but category and template are tautological, just use links. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:25, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
...why not "Bot"? --Steinsplitter (talk) 15:49, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"Bot : add Category:Monuments historiques in Haut-Rhin" / "Bot : add Template:Mérimée" should be good. Gzen92 [discuter] 08:28, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have unblocked the bot account now, please do a small amount of test edits. --Krd 08:43, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok, See some examples.
For information, in Category:Abbaye de Trizay, I manage the template {{Disambig}} and not {{Disambiguation}}... but now it's good (link also corrected on Wikidata). Gzen92 [discuter] 11:29, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If I'm not mistaken, categories names are still need to be in English. Oh, where Wikidata with its promises of multi-language names? :-) --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:40, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know. It was easier for me to name the French Wikipedia, sorry. Gzen92 [discuter] 09:09, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't find any reference that category names mus be in English. Anyway, as there is no objection, I'm going to approve this request. --Krd 14:10, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
