Discussion

Bot shouldn't run this fast without a bot flag. What's the VI project? Multichill (talk) 20:36, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that then, it was its first run with such a number of actions involved. VI = Valued images. Dschwen's VICbot is currently doing most of the work there. --Eusebius (talk) 20:45, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looks OK to me. Very sensible user. Is there any consensus/rule about the speed at which a bot can run once a bot flag has been granted? --MichaelMaggs (talk) 18:12, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please make a test run for Valued images activity? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:49, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The code for that is not ready yet, and I can't promise it will be very soon. My request here is mainly motivated by the few task requests I've answered to so far. EuseBot's activity on the VI project will be much more limited in terms of number of edits. In short, absence of flag prevents me from doing, from time to time, the kind of punctual tasks I've just had to stop, but it's probably not a big problem for VI-related activity. --Eusebius (talk) 16:52, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think will be good idea to return to VI functions later when code will be ready. Existing bot edits looks OK for me. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:02, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I don't understand what you're saying about the VI functions? --Eusebius (talk) 16:21, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes new functionality for existing bots (with flags) were discussed here. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:40, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK. It was certainly in my plans to discuss them at least somewhere and have the first edits looked at. --Eusebius (talk) 17:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm now confused. Do you still want a bot flag now for the existing uses or is your intention to apply for a flag later, when you are ready to do VI work with it? --MichaelMaggs (talk) 18:35, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm applying for a flag now, and you give it when you deem appropriate. What I said is that, independently from the flag request, when I implement new functionalities, I will test them and ask for opinions before doing large numbers of edits (especially if the edits are related to a project guideline). --Eusebius (talk) 18:48, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done OK, flag granted. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 21:58, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. --Eusebius (talk) 22:02, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
