Sorry, I wasn't aware that my bot needed approval. I've been running it since 19 October 2022 and it has made 16.5k edits so far.

Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought:

The bot helps me doing semi-automated repetitive edits such as:

  • Fixing bad usage of the {{Taken on}} template (example 1, example 2, example 3).
  • Categorizing images of the Pentagon (example).
  • Fix dates of dvidshub.net images (example).
  • Fix typos which would impact search (example). I wouldn't use the bot to fix insignificant (edit: grammar or spelling) typos.
  • Mark files as uncategorized (example).
  • Remove gibberish and request renames of khteWisconsin files (example).

Automatic or manually assisted:

The bot is manually assisted. I write and test scripts for each situation. For each case I first manually approve each edit the bot is making and once confidence is gained that the bot is doing the right thing, I let it run automatically.

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): One-time runs.

Maximum edit rate (e.g. edits per minute): The maximum that my bot is allowed to do which seems to be around 6 times per minute.

Bot flag requested: (Y/N): I'm not sure if I need the bot flag.

Programming language(s): python/pywikibot

Please note that there was a discussion about my bot on the Commons pump: Commons:Village pump#Unnecessary bot edits.
