Discussion

I requested before but I understand pywikipedia bots nowAmir (talk) 02:00, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please provide details about image review process? Is it possible to ask users of Persian Wikipedia to add translation to other languages (for example, English) before transfer?
Please also make a test run.

this bot for transfer images runs manually.Amir (talk) 12:55, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
But who will review images? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:07, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Me!:)Amir (talk) 00:29, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think problems are fully resolved. I recommend you to:

for first OK i do it,for second I in review add more information about image ,for third I changed from his page on fa to commonsAmir (talk) 19:50, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also will be good idea to involve Farsi Wikipedia users who know other languages (English, etc) to add translations of descriptions before moving. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:36, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry to disappoint you, but these uploads don't look good. It's somewhat better than the last time when we had to nuke all your uploads, but the concerns I mentioned last time are not addressed. Multichill (talk) 19:43, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
for what?I reviewed all of them and add category or other information but if need add more, you say I addAmir (talk) 19:54, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't flag this bot, I see some problems, all the images I checked didn't have any descripion only a bot message [1] without a good description the images are useless Huib talk 07:33, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you see, I add cat in after edit [] and if I add more information picture I add to files that uploaded after now.OK?Amir (talk) 00:44, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's still no discription on the place mend to be for a description, if your bot cant add the description properly I would say its malfunctioning. Huib talk 04:32, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will add to all of images description in review.OK?Amir (talk) 19:01, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please do fix things, thanks! ... but we need the bot to do the work correctly before it could be flagged, having you go and fix stuff isn't a long term workable plan. Tending to suggest not approved unless we can work through these issues. ++Lar: t/c 21:37, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Strong oppose. A brief look at contribs and I see very few (top)s which means there was likely something the bot did wrong or incompletely that had to be fixed. And for every history I checked, that was indeed the case. The ones that haven't been edited (like File:HataDubai.2.jpg [2]) are pretty ugly... duplicate Information boxes, broken templates, broken links, text unnecessarily placed outside of the description, uncategorized, "orginal" (bots shouldn't make typos), use of non-standard Template:اطلاعات which was created specifically for this bot (if this was human I can understand the language accommodations but hard-coding things in there like [[w:fa: shows it's just to make your job easier). There's a bunch other little things that are signs this bot should not be running. Sloppy. For example, why are you using {{GNU}} instead of {{GFDL}}? That terrible incorrect redirect exists only for users who know absolutely nothing about licenses. GNU is an operating system. "GNU" also could mean {{GPL}} or {{LGPL}} and anything else the FSF decides to make. Even if you didn't know that, why is a bot using a redirect in the first place? That's a human convenience. Where's the file history? You're violating the GFDL. The description: "This image was copied from Persian wikipedia by bot" is not a description at all. I can go on, but I don't think I need. This bot has a long long way to go. Rocket000 (talk) 20:16, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per Rocket000 I think it best we not approve this at this time and ask the author to work on issues more before returning. These issues are pretty serious in my view. Suggest archive as not approved. ++Lar: t/c 06:22, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I don't have protest and sorry for typo but please don't delete uploaded files.I will be check all of them and correct them 79.132.207.37 08:53, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No one's suggesting we delete them. As long as you're going take care of things, there's no problem. Just do it manually. ;-) Rocket000 (talk) 08:37, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm closing this as  not done, per the above concerns. Kanonkas // talk // e-mail // 16:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
