Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: Adding categories to videofiles that are uploaded through video2commons. At the moment I've made 9 navigation templates by year for various publishers from the Netherlands that regularly upload videos under a free license on YouTube. It's fairly tedious to add the publishers' category to these videos especially when editing on mobile. The script to automate this also adds "Videos of YYYY" category if the publisher isn't recognized.

I've also used my bot account in the past few days to sort out the 2200 videos in Category:Polygoonjournaal by year.

Automatic or manually assisted: At the moment I still need to boot up the script but I'm planning to make it a cronjob.

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run):Daily. At the moment there are about 5 - 25 uploads through Video2Commons a day.

Maximum edit rate (e.g. edits per minute):

Discussion

Is adding "Videos of YYYY" ok or should I stick to categorizing videos of which the publisher is recognized?--Vera (talk) 13:08, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please make test run. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:06, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See recent edits. I see I underestimated how many videos are being uploaded through Video2Commons. I watch the video2commons category by loading in its rss feed into TinyTinyRSS, but I had limited the feed to 10 articles at the time. --Vera (talk) 20:09, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks OK for me. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:49, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If there are no objections, I think bot status should be granted. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:48, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
