Evert van der Grinten collection[edit]

Landhuis Diemerkamp in 1971.
  • Source to upload from: nijmegen.nl
    • I have a XML and csv file (converting between those) with direct links to the image locations and am using GWToolset.
    • Did you contact the site owner?: No the fact that the images are cc-by-sa is stated at opencultuurdata.nl and at the image source (see link for each image).
  • Describe the works to be uploaded in detail (audio files, images by …):

808 images by Evert van der Grinten, a professor art history at the Nijmegen University who photographed 19th century buildings in Nijmegen.

  • Which license tag(s) should be applied?

cc-by-sa-4.0, the images where released by the rights holder (Regionaal Archief Nijmegen) who got the rights from the widow of Evert van der Grinten.

  • Is there a template that could be used on the file description pages? Do you think a special template should be created?

I'm using the information template, I believe it'll do fine.

Images are being uploaded. Basvb (talk) 11:23, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I made a mistake with titles (having non-allowed characters in them), thus circa 50 more images may arrive. Another issue is that I found that it seems that not just the images photographed by Evert van der Grinten, but also those collected by him but not photographed by him were released by the archive. Some of these images are very unlikely to be free, in line with COM:PCP I deleted all files with an upload date outside of the usual pattern/working time denoted by the archive. Some of the files I could save under PD-old licenses as they were hundreds years old maps/drawings. I still have to check a few (19) and if applicable relicense. Currently 578 images are successfully uploaded and can be used to illustrate 1960s to 1980s Nijmegen. PS: how did the GWToolset get this slow (over 3 days to upload 770 images). All files which are not almost certainly Van der Grintens (or which are pd-old), have been deleted as of now. Basvb (talk) 13:56, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
