Defense.gov Photo Essays[edit]

I have fun to work on Commons:Batch_uploading/Defenselink. I see there are a more nice picture in this collection, called "Photo Essays". I guess up to 30.000 images. I like to import them too. Will that be ok? Any suggestions? --Slick (talk) 18:49, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

 Support but same with Marines, chekc for dupicates espaccally with DoD pics, cause they use pics af all branches--Sanandros (talk)

Upload running now. I extract all VRINs on Commons I found and remove (>3000) duplicates in this collection before upload. Throttle to max. 4 uploads / minute. --Slick (talk) 19:16, 14 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Before upload I filtered the files. So I only files upload that:

  • resolution min. 1024x768
  • where found a VRIN, author and date
  • VRIN is not already on Commons
  • VRIN is not already in this batch job (DoD sometimes use the same file in more than one essay)
