Triskelion vs. Triskeles[edit]
What is the difference supposed to be between Category:Triskelion and Category:Triskeles? -- AnonMoos (talk) 22:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I was not informed that there was the Category Triskelion too. Now they are bot Categories. Surely the word is greek and the correct word is "Triskeles" (from "tri"=3 and "skelès"=leg, foot). It's the symbol of Sicily. I d'ont find "Triskelion" in the greek dictionary. In the Category Triskelion there are "3-legs", but the most part of the images are surely NOT "Triskeles" ! --DenghiùComm (talk) 07:02, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm really not too sure what you're talking about. Galleries can have names in many languages, but Categories are in English for now, and the English word is "triskelion". Anyway, if we were using Greek, then it would be Category:τρισκελης, not Category:Triskeles -- and many images to which you added Category:Triskeles were already part of Category:Triskelion when you added it... - "Tomoe"s cannot be the same that "Triskeles" (or Triskelion)! It's not correct! Before you put all in the same pot, please, find other name for all the symbols which are not "3-legs". Thank you! --DenghiùComm (talk) 16:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

You want such a terminological distinction to exist, but such a terminological distinction does not in fact exist in the ordinary vocabulary of the English language -- see en:Triskelion. However, you could create a category Category:Three-legged symbols, which would be a sub-category of Category:Triskelion (not independent of it). AnonMoos (talk) 18:33, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
