Move request for Category:Trentino to Category:Province of Trento[edit]

Comment: Why not Category:Province of Trentino, which is the English term? Gun Powder Ma (talk) 20:36, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to the IW category names, Trento is the correct name. I move only when there is a proof from a recognised source (not wikipedia that is apparently very incoherent). --Foroa (talk) 20:55, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have not seen solid arguments here, and the worst possible solution is to have two parallel categories meaning the same. I will not wait very long before executing this move; the most important is that they are merged and uniform. if need be, they can be moved later on. --Foroa (talk) 20:53, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose for the same reasons given at Category talk:South Tyrol. If the most important need is to create "uniform" category names, then all Italian provincial names should be rather changed along the French, US-American, British, Spanish and German model. Regards Gun Powder Ma (talk)
Fed up with tendentious and endless discussions. There is even no article in the English or Italian wikipedia about Trentino, so I swith to a naming that is coherent with the italian en English naming. Stop challenging me Gun Powder Ma. --Foroa (talk) 11:48, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Move executed

What do you think you are doing? Gryffindor (talk) 20:43, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Clarification: I received a move request on the delinker talk page, and in that light, I was going to execute it as for me, it was perfectly logical and in line with the other Italian provinces (see Category talk:South Tyrol#Move request of 17 04 2009 - second try . The most important is to have at each country level, a consistent naming system. Then I remembered some troubles with the naming in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, so I decided to issue a formal move request. So don't hack on me because I postposed a completely logical action to allow you to discuss about it. --Foroa (talk) 21:22, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is, my dear Foroa, that you are doing here the move against full consensus, by offending the users and without providing any substantial reasons, all because I complaint about your handling of the delinkers command about Roman bridges which was done equally without sufficient insight into the topic, as I already proved. So, what you are doing here, Foroa, is actually heaping bad judgment upon another, in the hope that one neutralizes the other, thereby affecting more and more Commons categories in the process. This is a poor show, and your "do not challenge me" command amply shows your authoritarian attitude, which so clearly has little to do with the spirit of Wikipedia. If you have reasons for your actions, why don't you provide them? Regards Gun Powder Ma (talk)
