I don't remember why I chose the word "signage" in 2011.--ŠJů (talk) 18:47, 7 October 2019 (UTC) In 2015, Tuvalkin renamed this category from "Tram line numbers" to "Tram route signage" to reflect non-numeral signs of tram routes. I think, the word "signs" is acceptable for all forms of such signage. --ŠJů (talk) 18:51, 7 October 2019 (UTC)- @ŠJů: That explains why it still had a legacy connection to Category:Tram routes by number. Unrename[edit]

- @Tuvalkin: Sorry to hear that. We can certainly open a new CfD to discuss returning to signage. As 'sign' is the physical object that is depicted in these images, is there a specific reason you would prefer 'signage' here? Josh (talk) 00:38, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Joshbaumgartner: "Signage" is wider and can easily include things that are even already in this category, like logo images, rollsign segments, flipdot displays, route number icons, and more such things that cannot be easily terms "signs". I'm not insisting on an unrenaming right now, but would like people to think about this and consider the change futurely. -- Tuválkin ✉ ✇ 04:24, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- I agree, you have a good point...perhaps this would better be discussed at a higher level at Category:Signs and Category:Signage as it really applies to how we define these two categories. Josh (talk) 04:34, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
