parent portrait category/-ies[edit]
I just removed Category:Portraits of artists because the occupation of creators of self-portraits is not necessarily artist. Having had a closer look at the top-level Portraits subcategories, I think that this category would best fit in Portraits by portraitist and Portraits by model. As the parent categories weren't exactly stable in the past, I would like to establish formal consensus that cannot be overturned without a(nother) discussion. Ping Shakko, Johnbod and Bohème. - Well please put it back! It isn't called Category:Portraits of professional artists! How many images would this apply to? This is a trivial and unhelpful point. I don't think the other changes were appropriate either. Self-portraits by/of a particular artist should be in their sub-cat. But thanks for asking! Johnbod (talk) 18:17, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Sure, I will, but unless you insist on an immediate revert I'd like to hear third opinions (if any) first. IMO professional is implied to some degree, people who take selfies aren't usually called artists. FDMS 4 21:23, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
