Rename files in this category[edit]

Mimich, EricSerge, Ericalford, AusTerrapin, Antonio Prieto Barrio: I would like rename the files in this category to its original Malay names. At present, they are mostly in English however the problem is that there are discrepancies between the official translation and that provided by enthusiasts. For example, for the order with the Malay name "Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia", the translation as provided by Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara, the government department which has the authority over Brunei's orders and medals, is "The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei",[1] but enthusiasts have given the translation as "The Most Blessed Order of Loyalty to the State of Brunei".[2]

At the moment I'm currently improving the Wikipedia articles, both in English and Malay Wikipedias, pertaining orders and medals of Brunei by adding relevant ribbon and medal pictures where available but it's really confusing and time consuming because the file names do not bear the original Malay names and so I have to cross-reference with official sources and that from the enthusiasts.

The advantage of naming the files in their original Malay names is that they are always the same, in contrast to English where it is not the original language and so translation may vary, especially with these names which contain archaic terms which may not be easily translatable and thus often cause translation discrepancies. Nevertheless, English names (or equivalent translations in other languages) can still be included as captions or descriptions of the files. Zulfadli51 (talk) 08:22, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
