Reminder for creating new categories for Puerto Rico[edit]

Please pay attention to the fact that Puerto Rico is a "country", or, if you wannna, a "Freely associated state", but not a state and moreover not a possession of the United States. So, all its categories shoud be categorized "... by country", and not by "... of the United Stetes" or "... in the United States". --OliverZena 17:54, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the sensitivity of this issue (or anyway I have an inkling of it). But the Wikipedia article on Puerto Rico says that "Puerto Rico is not an independent country. Instead ... (according to the United States Supreme Court) ...is a territory appurtenant and belonging to the United States, but not a part of the United States." However, for the purely practical reason that it is easier to find under Category:Islands of the United States than buried in Category:Insular areas of the United States, I have added it to the former category. --TedAnderson 23:31, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
