Francis or Frances?[edit]

Many references call him "David Frances Barry" while others use "David Francis Barry". According to Thomas M. Heski, The Little Shadow Catcher: The Story of D.F. Barry, his name is David Frances Barry, "the name Frances was in honor of his mother's father". I think this category should keep its name, while Category:David Francis Barry and en:David Francis Barry should be renamed. I've also seen him referred to as both 'David Frances' and 'David Francis', while all photos and newspaper archives about his business refer to him simply as D.F. Barry. The Library of Congress as well as the Denver Public Library which holds a large collection of his negatives & photos use 'Francis' when listing his collection, though in some photos such as this the subject description also uses 'Frances' which adds to the confusion. I contacted the Douglas County Historical Society in Superior Wisconsin and they said 'Francis' is the correct spelling. 'Francis' seems to be more widely used and unless we can find a signature or record that proves otherwise think that is what should be used here. BaomoVW (talk) 19:19, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. So, no objection to rename it 'Francis'. Florn (talk) 21:44, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
