Notability and missing infoboxes[edit]

I have worked through ca 4000 categories about Estonia-related persons. About 97% of them have {{Wikidata Infobox}}. So I am trying to figure out what should be done with these 3%. Some of these 3% has a {{Notice}} (see e.g. Special:Diff/834825577) which tells that the person "is likely not notable in the sense of Wikidata or any other Wikipedias". But one Commons user (user:SergeWoodzing) doesn't accept this {{Notice}}-template remarks, discussed here: Category talk:Fred Kallaste.

Here is the list of Estonia-related persons without {{Wikidata Infobox}}. Most of these categories are created by the photographer user:Kynnap who obviously doesn't pay attention for the notability of photographed persons. And several photographed persons were young (her/his 10s and 20s years) at the moment of photographing.

This is irrrlevant on this page.
Also "who obviously doesn't pay attention for the notability of photographed persons" is irrelevant anywhere because (1) one single very persistent Commons user's personal opinion cannot be allowed to determine who is notable or not and (2) categories are created to collect images on certain subjects under them regardless if the subjects are notable or not. @SergeWoodzing: if Wikidata will decide that bare Commons category is not enough to create respective Wikidata item, then all these Estonian person categories to be provided with hatnote: a la "please don't create Wikidata entry". Estopedist1 (talk) 16:23, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is up to consensus at Commons, not up to Wikidata. This requirement has been repeated over and over. It will be neccessary to get consensus for it here before more is added to a project that seems useless, almost disruptive. No, it is not related at all. It's the result of action by a Commons administrator and of neccessary consensus at Estonian Wikipedia. It's very important to learn what consensus means, not to ignore it. Nobody warned anbody in advance about something that might happen or made long lists in such an inappropriate effort. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 21:34, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate tags[edit]
