@Molgreen and Stunteltje: this ship should be under the name category:Orca ten Broke (ship, 2017). Currently, it is a redirect. A mistake?--Estopedist1 (talk) 05:38, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Correct. Has to be reverted.--Stunteltje (talk) 06:46, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Estopedist1 and Stunteltje: I wanted to match the name of the Commons category with the name of the German Wikipedia article. At the same time I created a new gallery with the same name. Why is the indication "(ship, 2017)" so important? I had hoped that a permanent forwarding would be sufficient? many greetings --Molgreen (talk) 17:06, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please have a look at Category:Ships by name (flat list). You will find that more than 60.000 ships are categorised via the system: Shipname (as painted on the ship, when possible), (ship, year of completion or year of first commissioning for naval ships). Wikimedia Commons is international, it follows no local Wikipedia. --Stunteltje (talk) 20:18, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Stunteltje, sorry, I did not know that. Is there an automatic (!) redirection for Wikimedia Commons like for Wikipedia? I only know the redirection for Commons, where you are manually guided to the actual destination category. I will probably be able to make the correction at the weekend at the earliest. No problem. If it does not work, ask an administrator. --Stunteltje (talk) 06:04, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
