Subcategory of series

" images of characters are copyrighted" ... What does copyright have to do with a non-topical relation? How can the non-availability of free content have an effect on topics or an effect on how we describe topics on Wikimedia Commons? The category tree is a hierarchy, either you have to categorize photos that have a relation to the series directly to the series (happened so with the ComicCon subcategories Category:Vampire Diaries Panel at the 2010 Comic-Con International which has a topical relation to both, the series and ComicCon) or create an appropriate subset of photos of the person in her role or repesenting her role that topically belong to the series. The scope of Commons is sorting media files by their content, not people by various connections. A list of actors is 100% appropriate for a list of actors in Wikipedia, its inappropriate for Commons. --Martin H. (talk) 05:18, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
