Language information[edit]
Spanish is the highest priority language other than English. Los Angeles has a history of being a Mexican settlement and in the late 20th Century and early 21st Century it has received large numbers of Mexican and Salvadoran immigrants.
The Los Angeles Unified School District has published materials in the following languages other than English and Spanish: Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Armenian, Persian, and Vietnamese.
