@INeverCry, I know there were a few conversations about doing these reviews correctly and I imagine that's why you taking these out of the Category:License review queue—what was the verdict, for posterity? czar 21:16, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Czar: I haven't the slightest. After I got pinged half to death and dragged through the mud by the uploader, I wasn't inclined to have much more to do with it. I've moved these to their own category, first because they've been getting in the way of reviewing files with well-understood licensing, second because it doesn't seem that a verdict has been reached on how to review these, and third to make it easier to do a mass deletion request if needed. These can't stay on Commons unreviewed indefinitely. That we're still getting further uploads daily from these sources is less than kosher really when we seem to have no Japanese reviewers or admins who can or will pass or fail these. I may mass DR them soon to get this whole deal either figured out or nuked once and for all. Let me know what you think of that. INeverCry 21:44, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @INeverCry, yeah I'm getting the ping treatment right now myself. I'm not familiar with the Commons precedent to use DR as a procedural means to handle a stale issue, but it might be what this needs... I agree that these uploads need to be addressed and I haven't seen much interest from the Japanese-language admins in sorting it out (I pinged them each several times in talks at Commons:井戸端—some helped translate at first, but no one's really shepherding the GJSTU-2.0 license documentation process). Might be worth a conversation at the Village pump for copyright, at least czar 21:53, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Czar: I guess VPC could be an option, but I don't have the energy or interest to wade in over there. I don't doubt I'd come in for some more abuse from the same person as before. Who would carry on the Japanese/translation side of a VPC discussion? A DR would probably sit around ages too for that matter. INeverCry 22:11, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
