Merge with Category:Karaköy[edit]
Shouldn't the category above be merged with Category:Galata? Generally both names refer to the same place and even if that isn't exactly true, most probably, many people will categorize in the less appropriate cat if both exist. Maybe creating Category:Karaköy-Galata is a good idea. ----Stegop (talk) 23:27, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Oppose En:Karaköy and en:Galata, like Category:Karaköy and Category:Galata, are two distinct things. I see no valid reason to merge them. --Foroa (talk) 04:55, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Are you sure they are *really* distinct things in most of contexts? How many photos you find in Category:Karaköy that would be wrong in Category:Galata? --Stegop (talk) 01:17, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
- We use the contemporary names here. This is not Portuguse WP. After cleaning up of the cat, I will make a subcat for "Things named after Galata" to satisfy people who miss good old days. --E4024 (talk) 16:17, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
