Categorization of operating companies[edit]

@MB-one: You removed the categorization nexus between this cat and Category:Carris, which is akin to the one with Category:NCAML (which, for now, remains). I understand that’s counterintuitive to have company cats as subsets of vehicle cats, but given the specifics of this situation, considering both the status of Elev. São Sebastião and what happened in 1913-1915 (and then up to 1918), how do you suggest categorization of operating companies should be done here? -- Tuválkin 06:59, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I take it, that the funiculars in Lisbon are operated by Carris? In this case, why not add Carris to this category. The other way around is not just counterintuitive, but also misleading, as Carris is operating buses, trams etc. as well. --MB-one (talk) 19:32, 24 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, all three extant Lisbon funiculars (and one of the two extant vertical lifts and another vertical lift closed in 1920) are/were operated by Carris since 1913, that’s not the crux of the matter: Up to its acquisition by Carris in 1913 NCAML operated these three funiculars, the extant vertical lift, the mentioned extinct vertical lift, and two cable car lines, which were converted to tram operation in 1915. Its name was kept in signage and ticketry till around 1920 (it was not a sudden, clear cut transition), as well as on the new trams that operated the two tram routes which replaced the said cable car lines (parts of current 12E and 28E, after many changes). Given all this, what should Category:NCAML be parent of, to be consistent with your change? -- Tuválkin 19:57, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@MB-one: So, you ignore this discussion for 15 months and yet you keep an eye on the matter for a swift reversion? What’s your deal? -- Tuválkin 18:57, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not ignoring anything. You can see my contribution above. Carris is more than funiculars. MB-one (talk) 19:03, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You still didn’t address my concerns of Feb.26th. -- Tuválkin 11:27, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
