Move (undo) request

[edit]

This category was recently moved to an unusual name not used in any language for this person. The subject is the current king of Spain, from the modern era, called "Felipe" in both English and Spanish his entire life. His English-language article is en:Felipe VI of Spain and is almost never called "Philip VI" in any language. (The most common "Philip VI" in the English language was king of France from 1328 to 1350. --Closeapple (talk) 05:26, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that the name of the item Felipe VI in the English Wikipedia is wrong, Felipe VI applies only in Spain. Move the voice of the English Wikipedia.--79.20.136.17 08:46, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Felipe VI is the common name in both English and Spanish, and therefore the most suitable name in both languages and here. DrKiernan (talk) 20:41, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
79.20.136.17: Do you have examples of reliable sources using the name "Philip VI" for this person? All of the native English news and references I know of call him "Felipe". --Closeapple (talk) 06:54, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: We may need to leave this open a bit longer because that anonymous user has come from 3 different IP addresses and blanked the {{Move}} template on the category page repeatedly, so it hasn't been visible to people viewing the category for part of the time. --Closeapple (talk) 02:43, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please undo those disruptive edits as soon as you notice them, thanks. DrKiernan (talk) 14:14, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
