Madonna & Child?
[edit]@Shakko: - I'm admittedly no expert on this, but can you explain why this category doesn't belong in a category for icons of Madonna and child? Thanks - Themightyquill (talk) 11:44, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- The word "Madonna" can't be used to Orthodox art (icons). It's only Catholic. And almost 90% types of Marian icon is "with child", not only Eleusa and Hodegitria. -- Shakko (talk) 16:41, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Shakko: Your first reason makes perfect sense, but I'm not sure about your latter. Would Category:Icons of the Virgin Mary and child or something work? Since we have a Category:Madonna and child category for every other type of artwork featuring the pair (and surely, Mary is most frequently presented with child in other types of work as well), it seems weird that icons would be an exception.
