Please change template to move subcategories to Category:BSicon/railway/set gray[edit]

Minorax or Jc86035, could you please move these categories to Category:BSicon/railway/set gray? I think a template should be adjusted, but I do not know which one and how to do it. @JopkeB: Hi, thank you for letting me know about this discussion, which I was not aware of. The naming of the categories specifically reflects the file names, and it would be inconsistent to rename this category to match the parent categories without also renaming the thousands of files that are in the categories.
In general, the BSicon "set" names refer to specific RGB hex codes, and do not necessarily correspond to the actual colours that they are named after; there are several which use non-standard or arbitrary definitions or spellings. Even if it would make them more descriptive or accurate, renaming the categories would be needlessly confusing for the actual creation of the diagrams, which have to use the actual file names. For example, the "violet" and "purple" sets are arguably both named inaccurately, but templates on other wikis and thousands of files would need to be updated if we were to swap or rename the sets.
In other words, the "grey" in the category names refers specifically to the BSicon images that have "grey" in their name rather than to the colour directly. The colour and name were picked in a discussion in 2013.
In 2017, there was a unilateral attempt to rename the categories without consensus to use the spelling "gray" (without renaming any of the images). Of course, the spelling "grey" is still used.
If you would like the categories to be renamed anyway, I would suggest making a post at Talk:BSicon so that more people can be aware of this and be involved in deciding how to handle the consensus of the CfD. Jc86035 (talk) 12:09, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jc86035, Thanks for your reaction. So this is a complicated situation. I won't make any changes in this category and its subcategories anymore. Is it a problem to keep the Category:BSicon/railway/set gray or should that one be reversed? Anyway, I'll make a note on the page Commons:Categories for discussion/2020/01/Category:Gray.   • "Grey" in this category and its subcategories and files cannot be renamed to "Gray", as was concluded in Commons:Categories for discussion/2020/01/Category:Gray, because that will generates problems, category names have been linked to corresponding file names.
  • Minorax has reversed the files, thanks!
  • I have switched the parent and remarks for both categories.
