Does anyone know why "MediaWiki automatically generates static, non-animated thumbnails of SVG images" instead of allowing the actual in-line view of the SMIL animation? To be able to see the animation in context would improve the educational quality of many of the illustrations of things mechanical, physical, biological, and all activity that has a time based quality, like jugging, swimming, flying, etc. -- 02:50, 20 October 2014 David.daileyatsrudotedu

Browsers only gained such capabilities relatively recently. AnonMoos (talk) 13:08, 20 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
