I have wondered what to do about companies that have consolidated into others. EG douglas and boeing. Clearly, I would list a DC-3 under Douglas, but currently produced craft designed and built while McDonnell Douglas, but now Boeing? I dont' know where the users expect to find them.
- It's a bit tricky here. For your example the DC-9 should be in Douglas and MDD (Douglas design and production with MDD improvements like MD-8x/9x), the DC-10 should only be in MDD (maybe in Douglas too because mostly designed by them), Boeing continued production but no further improvements had been made. Merged manufacturers cat should stay in the main cat but also a subcat to the current owner. --Denniss 08:32, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
