Harmonization of print names + description[edit]

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has a complete set of all AFV’s prints described by Andresen (3. Band,1869 u. 1872, pp.24-41) Internet Archive identifier: diedeutschenmal00wessgoog = Google Books including many trial proofs. In case you like to download some images – and so as to harmonize file names for the entire set – I would like to ask you to name the images in the follow way:

AF Vollmer Andr.x-y.jpg

where x stands for the work-number under which Andresen lists the print and the extension -y (in Roman numerals) for the first, second etc. trial proof where these exist.

Example:

AF Vollmer Andr.19-II.jpg = the 2nd trial and (in this case) final print;

Another example (the image has not yet been downloaded): File:AF Vollmer Andr.26.jpg.

|title = Die Kleine Alster von der Scheelengangsbrücke

|description =

English: final print, View from the Scheelengangs Bridge towards the Kunst before the Great Fire of 5th to 8th of May 1842; (n.b.: the Phil. Museum mistranslated it) ; copy of print from the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The prints have generally not been given a title, Andresen merely describes them. I suggest to follow the examples above.

generally:

|title =an abbreviated Title where appropriate,

|description =

Deutsch: Nummer des Probedrucks / vollendeter Abdruck , Andresens Beschreibung, Link zu dieser Seite; Kopie des Druckes aus der Sammlung des Philadelphia Museum of Art.
English: number of trial proof / final print, the Museum’s translation; copy of print from the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

I suggest to follow this pattern also for all other artists’ prints that were described by Andreson.
