History

• 1908 Named: Wyreema for Australian United Steamship Navigation Company (AUSN)
• 22.02.1908 Left Glasgow (Scotland) for London, where she loaded cargo
• 24.02.1908 Left London
• 10.04.1908 Arriving in Brisbane
• 1909 Experiment in tourism with all accommodation being classified as one class, and the fare including excursions to various ports. However, the fares charged were the same as the regular first class passengers, and while the first class cabins were sold, people were not prepared to pay the higher tariff to travel in what was normally a second-class cabin. So, after only two voyages the new scheme was dropped.
• 09.03.1910 Collided with the small collier "Currajong" off Bradley's Head, steaming out of Sydney Harbour (NSW). The bow of the liner cut into the smaller vessel amidships, and within four minutes the collier had sunk with the loss of one crewman. "Wyreema" returned to her berth for repairs, and the captain lost his ticket for 12 months at the subsequent inquiry.
• 23.09.1918 Taken over by the Navy for conversion into a troopship, with the work being done in Sydney.
• 10.1918 Sailed to Europe, but upon reaching Capetown (South Africa) was advised the armistices had been signed, so returned to Australia.
• 27.12.1918 However, on reaching Adelaide (South Australia), the ship was once again ordered to sail to Britain
• 02.1919 Arrived in Liverpool. Here an epidemic of pneumonic influenza spread through the crew and fifteen died.
• 13.04.1919 Left Liverpool, carrying troops and their families back to Australia
• 31.05.1919 Reached Sydney at which time she was handed back to her owners.
• 1919 After reconditioning she returned to the east coast route, which was now suffering a downturn in passengers and freight.
• 09.1921 The outbreak of bubonic plague resulted in the vessel being laid-up in Sydney
• 04.1921 In service
• 09.1925 Laid-up in Sydney, and put up for sale
• 1926 Returned to the east coast trade.
• 06.1926 Sold to Lloyd Brasiliero
• 16.06.1926 Left Cairns on the arriving in Melbourne twelve days later.
• 30.06.1926 Left Melbourne
• 02.07.1926 Arrived in Sydney, where she was laid-up awaiting delivery
• 27.07.1926 Delivery
• 28.07.1926 Renamed: Dom Pedro I Flag: Brazil

• 20.09.1926 Arrived in Rio de Janeiro through the Panama Canal
• 1958 Sold for scrap and broken up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
