This category is for tartans with names like "No. 64" from the Key Pattern Book (1819) and other catalogues and records of the Scottish weaving firm William Wilson & Son of Bannockburn (Wilsons for short), who were instrumental in the creation and adoption of clan and district tartans in the early 19th century. They operated from c. 1760s to the 1920s, and were for a long time the leading (almost only) supplier of tartan for the Highland regiments, as well as the dominant manufacturer of civilian tartan cloth.
