English: Melvin Albert (Bert) Weed (1882-1964) began in the pharmacy business in 1898 as a clerk at the Bartell Drug Company. After college he partnered with Albert G. Keene and worked as a pharmacist at Lake Washington Pharmacy, 2601 S. Jackson St., about a mile east of Downtown in Seattle's Central District. Lake Washington Pharmacy became Weed's Pharmacy in 1910, operating in the same location until Bert Weed's retirement in 1958.
