The Warm Air Research House at 1108 West Stoughton Street in Urbana, Illinois was built in 1924 in the Colonial Revival style by the National Warm-Air Heating and Ventilating Association to conduct research on home heating systems. The house was completely furnished, to create as realistic an environment as possible. Mechanical engineers, including professor Arthur C. Willard, and students from the University of Illinois utilized the laboratory. The house was sold to a private individual in 1940, and then from c.2002 until 2011 it was the location of the University's Center for Democracy in a Multiracial Society. The house was added to the NRHP in 2001.
