English: William David Hogan was born in Quartertown, Mallow, County Cork in August 1885. He had moved to Fairview, Dublin by the early 20th century. A commercial and press photographer, Hogan was "embedded" with Free State troops during the Irish Civil War. He had a photography studio (and later wireless/radio business) in Henry Street, Dublin during the 1920s and 1930s. He moved to London in the mid-1930s and operated the London Daily Wedding Photo Service from Fulham Palace Road, London. He died in 1956. Up to 160 photographs from Hogan's Henry Street studio practice (dated between 1920 and 1935) are now in the "Hogan Collection" of the National Library of Ireland (NLI). Many released by the NLI under Commons licences.
