English: Villard Houses, located at 455 Madison Avenue between 50th and 51st Street in the Midtown East neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City were built in 1884 and were designed by Joseph M. Wells of McKim, Mead and White. In 1968 they were designated NYC landmarks, and in 1977 a glass tower was built behind the houses, and the entire complex became the New York Palace Hotel.
