English: Built in 1865 for the Union Bank of London by F. W. Porter as a replacement for its Temple Bar Branch Office at 13 Fleet Street. This location was still operating as a bank in 1974 under the name of the National Westminster Bank, after a series of mergers. From 1999-2023, J D Wetherspoon operated a pub here under the name The Knights Templar. The location has since been taken over by Berkeley Inns, which operates it as The Last Judgment.

The public entrance is at the corner of Chancery Lane and Carey Street, with a manager's entrance at 95 Chancery Lane. There is also a separate chambers entrance at 61 Carey Street, at the corner with Star Yard, which provides access to suites of legal chambers associated with the bank. The chambers were included in anticipation of the Royal Courts of Justice. The massive courts project began the same year as the bank, but would not be completed until 1882.
