This series consists of muster rolls (rosters) and personnel diaries. Muster rolls are monthly lists of personnel formally attached to each unit or command. Muster rolls typically contain the surname, given name, and middle initial of each individual, as well as their rank and service number.

Personnel diaries recorded significant status changes, including personnel reporting to or transferring from the activity; personnel being promoted or demoted; and personnel departing for and returning from periods of leave, temporary attached duty, or periods of formal inpatient status for treatment in a medical facility. When appropriate, any deaths that occurred were recorded in the personnel diary. Transaction registers recorded similar information as the personnel diaries.
