Français : L'arbre de vie, sculpté dans un noyer par Joseph Rifesser, représente les cinq grandes familles humaines peuplant la terre des hommes, plus particulièrement en Amérique, en Europe, en Asie, en Afrique et en Australie. Monsieur Peter Casson, Commissaire Général des Nations unies à l'Exposition universelle de 1967, en a alors fait don à la Ville de Montréal.
English: The Tree of Life, carved in a walnut tree by Joseph Rifesser, represents the fives races of men on earth, from America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. It was given to the City of Montreal by Mr. Peter Casson, Commissioner General of the United Nations upon the World's Fair of 1967.
