Note: Don't confuse. The Illustrated Magazine of Art was a short-lived New York-based art magazine published in the 1850s. It appears to have been patterned after a magazine of the same name published in the same years in London by J. Cassell, but to have different content (at least to some extent). Publication History: The Illustrated Magazine of Art began in 1853, published by Alexander Mongomery. It was then published by T. L. McElrath and Co. in 1854, and ended that year. link
