Prostestant churchs with the Holy Book
The Temples at Holy the Book were built, for the most part, under Louis-Philippe. They have the particularity of presenting an open Bible, sometimes stylized, sculpted on the façade, as a symbol of the freedom of worship proper to the constitutional monarchy, foreshadowing in this the laic republic. Under the Book was sometimes added the mention “République Française” as in Caylar or Cannes-et-Clairan ...
Scarce in France, they were mainly built on Languedoc or in the Atlantic facade where many did not survive at the wars of the twentieth century.
