English: A fortified settlement and a sanctuary site were found atop of the west acropolis of Idalion. The earliest layer exavated dates to the late bronze age. The later layers dates to the Cypro-Geometric (1050-750 BC) and Cypro-Archaic (750-480 BC) periods and consist a santuary of Athena, the equivalent of Canaanite-Phoenician Anat; The finds from this period are impresive and include a unique iron cuirass, bronze and iron swords, vessels with iconographic depictions, statues etc. Very little of the remians are visible today.
עברית : על פסגת האקרופוליס המערבי של אידליון ("אדיל" בפיניקית) נמצאו אתר מגורים מבוצר ואתר קודש. השכבה הקדומה מתוארכת לתקופת הברונזה המאוחרת. השכבות המאוחרות מתוארכות לתקופה הקיפרו־גאומטרית (1050–750 לפנה"ס) והקיפרו־ארכאית (750–480 לפנה"ס) וכללו מקדש לאלה אתנה, היא ענת הכנענית־פיניקית; הממצאים מתקופה זאת מרשימים וכוללים שריון ברזל, חרבות ברזל וברונזה, כלי קיבול עם עיטורים איקונוגרפיים, פסלים ועוד. כיום מעט מאוד מהאתר נותר חשוף.
