English: Tayleur was a iron full-rigged ship, built 1853 by Bank Quay Foundry at Warrington for J. Pilkington und H. Th.Wilson in Liverpool (the first White Star Line). She was designed as an emigrant ship. She sank on the second day of its maiden voyage in the Irish Sea after they had run aground on the rocks. Between 297 and 380 people lost their lives.
Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 230 × 40 × 28 ft (70.1 × 12.1 × 8.5 m) and displaced 1,750 tons.[1]
