English: Tasmania was an iron-hulled four-masted full-rigged ship built in 1886 by Russell & Co, Port Glasgow, as new building yard No 158 for P. Denniston & Co, Glasgow. Dimensions: length × beam × depth: 278.1 × 41.8 × 24.4 ft (84.7 × 12.7 × 7.4 m). Tonnages: 2,269 GRT and 2,175 NRT. 1889 converted to barque rig. 1911 sold to Skibs A/S Tasman (Grefstad & Herlofson), Arendal, Norway and renamed Tasman. 1914 foundered and sank in the North Sea en route London – Drammen in ballast.[1][2]
