English: This category is for streets that were converted to exclude permanently private motorized traffic (by design or with a road sign) after they were used intensively by cars before.

The category differs from the category pedestrian zones because it's not necessarily exclusive for pedestrians (e.g. a street with sidewalks, bike paths and a public transport corridor). It also differs from some pedestrian zones that were always car-free because of geographical, historical... reasons.

It can be bike paths / bikeways that used to be normal car streets before.

It can also be streets converted to parks or other public destinations.
