English: Strathdon was an iron barque built in 1885 by Harland & Wolff, Belfast (yard no. 184) as Queen's Island for S. Lawther, Belfast. Her dimensions were: length × beam × depth: 282.7 × 40.4 × 23.5 ft (86.1 × 12.3 × 7.1 m) and 2093 GRT, 2038 NRT and 1920 tons under deck. One of the two largest barques afloat. Sister ship to the full-rigged ship Lord Templetown. Sold circa 1890 to the Aberdeen White Star Line and renamed Strathdon. 1905 sold to Ant. Dom. Bordes et Fils, Dunkerque, and was renamed Gers. 1922 laid up at Nantes and broken up at Bruges in 1924.[1][2]
